Muji Stealth Shower Radio Is Disguised As A Shampoo Bottle

11:00AM Dan Nosowitz | Muji’s shower radio is shaped like a shampoo bottle, but we’re not sure why: Is it just to blend in with other shower accoutrements? Or does the Muji Shower Radio have a dark secret from which it needs to hide? More »

Cue Shower-Timer Prompts Women To Health-Check For Breast Cancer

10:15PM Kit Eaton | As well as letting you keep an environmentally-friendly eye on your time in the shower, Cue from Avie Products is specifically designed to remind women to check their breasts each month. Like those cheapo shower radio designs, it suckers on to the wall of your shower cubicle and then each month, seven days after your period, it’ll ping you. It can also cope with reminders for up to four women. So it’s pretty basic, but also sounds pretty darn useful in terms of reminding you to check your health: currently it’s available for just $US25 since it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month—regular pricing is $US30. Update: we contacted Avie, and they’ve confirmed that a less “flowery” version is in the works, to remind men to check for testicular lumps. [Chip Chick via Coolest Gadgets] More »

Lightning Review: Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner is the Worst Gadget I Have Ever Used In My Entire Life

11:20PM Brian Lam | I’ve never been so thoroughly disappointed with a gadget than I am with the Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner. You might have seen one of these in the aisles of Target or Wal-Mart and thought it would be an amazing way to keep your shower clean. After all, the Ad copy says, “It’s like a MAID. Times TWO!” You’d be dreaming of two hot robot french maid androids, keeping your human cleaning receptacles spotless. But this stuff does not work. DO NOT BUY. UPDATE: Just got hate mail for this post. Sounds like a douchebag rep for the product shilling hard. More »

Eco Drop Shower Gives You the Boot For Wasting Water

12:45PM Sean Fallon | There has been a lot of emphasis in recent years on conserving water, but we all know that for most people self-regulation is damn near impossible. Enter designer Tommaso Colia and his Eco_Drop Shower. When the shower has decided that you have outstayed your welcome, concentric circles on the floor will rise&mdashmaking things too uncomfortable to continue. I don’t know if this concept will ever see the light of day, but I vote for modifying it into a moving wall of spikes. Now that would be effective. Additional pic after the break. More »
