As far as secret plans go, Telstra’s intentions regarding the Samsung Galaxy S II 4G haven’t been conducted in the most clandestine of fashions. No surprise, is it then, that we now have solid confirmation and pricing ahead of smartphone’s release in ten days’ time.
It’s not just iPhones that are blowing up these days, this Samsung Galaxy S II almost exploded in a man’s pants. Seriously. Could you imagine if your phone caught fire and started burning everything in your nether regions? Ouchouchouch.
Samsung wants you to buy its Galaxy S II instead of an iPhone 4S, duh. So how are they going to do it? How about mocking the extreme popularity of the latter, a device they help build? Worth a shot!
Samsung’s Android super phone will cost you $900 outright on Optus, and can also be picked up through Telstra and Vodafone. But $574 plus $49 shipping? Wow. Clearly it’s not non-Australian stock, and that’ll affect your warranty. Also, it looks like this deal only has 10 hours left, and won’t ship until August 1. [Shopping Square via OzBargain]
It’s OTA update fever! Over the weekend, Telstra pushed out Android 3.1 for the Motorola Xoom tablet, which should also finally activate the SD card slot (no word yet from Optus). –Thanks Jeff. Meanwhile, there’s also Vodafone-specific update to the Galaxy S II that apparently improves web browsing on that network.
