Two more “fun” compact camera series has been announced today by Pentax, with my favourite being the Optio RZ10 (pictured above). For around $US270, it has a 14MP sensor and a 10x optical zoom.
It’s been a year in the making, but Pentax has released a successor to the K-x DSLR, and while the upgrades aren’t astonishing, there’s a higher ISO count (up to 25,600) and larger LCD, at three inches.
There you were, thinking things couldn’t get much worse than Pentax’s robotic-colours eyesore. Too bad, they did – in four splendiferious colours. How to decide between beige, olive, chocolate and pink? “Just” $US650. [Pentax via Engadget]
A number of previously Japan-only, Pentax K-x camera colours are headed to the US, the company confirmed Friday. Until Pentax opened up the colour palette, the Yanks only had access to red and black models in this line.
New from Pentax – a smiley-faced 52mm lens cap attached to a rag doll! Take a moment to process the true scope of such an idea, then realise that this flower print person is just one of 100 designs:
It’s not a micro four thirds, but Pentax has lifted the lid on the 645D medium format camera, which will be available this May for close to $US10,000. Why so expensive, you ask? There’s that 40-megapixel Kodak sensor for starters.
If you haven’t got nearly enough of the cameras coming out of the PMA show this week, you couldn’t go wrong with the 26x optical zoomer X90 from Pentax, which takes last year’s X70 and ups the zoom-factor.
The W90 is Pentax’s solid successor to the W80. It’s got a new strap, LEDs around the lens for close illumination and is slightly more resistant, rated to 6m of water and 1.2m drops.
