Foxtel have just released an iPad-friendly version of their TV Guide iPhone app. It lets you browse the PayTV network’s 14-day EPG, and iQ and iQ2 subscribers can set reminders and schedule recordings remotely. Sadly, the app doesn’t include Foxtel streaming to the iPad’s screen. Sad face. [iTunes]

When Foxtel launched their iQ2 box back in 2008, the HD PVR had an Ethernet port on the back that the PayTV network promised would be unlocked in the future. One of the concerns with 3DTV in Australia is actually getting the content onto your expensive new television. It’s not enough to just watch a handful of animated Blu-ray films and Avatar over and over again, is it? You need a 3D broadcast channel, which is something the free-to-air networks aren’t going to offer any time soon.
