John Mayer just quit Twitter. Check for yourself. And right after he recently came back to it! So… uh… what happens to his Twitter account?
Hi guys, John Mayer here. I know it’s been a while since I’ve “touched base”, but you know I’ve been pretty busy with my fourth album launch, y’know, the “heartbreak handbook”? About that anti-Twitter girl?
“This heart didn’t come with instructions,” Twittered John Mayer, after Jennifer Aniston ended their relationship over the phone. The reason for the breakup? He twittered too much.
John Mayer may not have shown up at the Apple iPhone keynote yesterday, but that doesn’t mean we’re not the best place to keep up on John Mayer news. And this one, my friends, is one juicy piece of John Mayer news. [John Mayer's Twitter]
In the 12 months since Blu-ray emerged victorious over HD DVD in the battle for high-definition format supremacy, BD-Live has gone from having huge potential as a key sales and marketing feature to becoming a footnote on the spine of a handful of Blu-ray movies. And despite the fact that some studios like Disney are actively pursuing the technology, its implementation still feels like a random collection of ideas that lacks cohesion and focus. And sadly, it doesn’t really look like things are going to change any time soon.
Hi guys, John Mayer here. When I saw the Mac OS X dock icon pillows that some guy named Roberto made for his friend Michaela, I wanted my sofa to look exactly like that. I was tempted to fire up Mail and write a message to my pal Steve’s minions–asking why they didn’t have the Icon Pillow Collection available at the Apple Store. However, I just learnt that the guy who did the original design by hand thought the best pop rock start in the world may be interested in buying, and put them up for sale in a cool web site.
The UN’s International Telecommunications Union announced Friday that mobile phone subscriptions will reach 4 billion by the end of 2008, far more than half of the estimated 6.7 billion total world population. Of course, there are some, like John Mayer, who throw off that number by having more than one mobile phone (damn you, Mayer!) but it’s still a huge milestone. The bump from last year’s total of 3.3 billion is primarily due to emerging countries like China, India, and Russia, as well as lower prices and lots of healthy competition between carriers. If only John Mayer’s dad lived in Australia and owned a Dell. Then all of John Mayer’s dad’s tech support questions could have been easily answered by the good folks at Gizmo.
You see, today Dell and Gizmo announced that they were going to get intimate, with Gizmo services like setting up your Dell PC or setting up a wireless network available as an optional extra when purchasing a new Dell machine.
While it’s highly unlikely that anybody reading this would need tech support to set up their own computer, this could be the kind of thing that you purchase for your own mum or dad when buying them a PC, so you can save yourself the 1,742 phone calls about how to get the computer working or, in John Mayer’s case, finding an application.
Pricing is a bit on the expensive side, but look at it this way: they have to put up with all of those inane questions from old people so you don’t have to. Isn’t that worth something?
Pricing is below:
newVideoPlayer("/johnmayer_gizmodo.flv", 476, 376,""); In a twist of destiny, John Mayer–the guy who writes to Apple Support saying “Hey guys, John Mayer here” and actually gets replies back–had to turn into tech support guy after his dad called saying “Hey, John Mayer’s dad here.” The musician tried to guide his father through Mac OS X in order to find his Entourage icon with no success, getting more and more frustrated with every turn of the conversation. We were able to grab the hilarious 100% unedited clip from TMZ before it disappeared.
Just when we thought John Mayer was happy with his MacBook Air, he goes and cheats on Apple with a Sony Vaio. Was it the fact that he had to submit a bug report? Was it the fact that everyone’s submitting bug reports with his name in it? Or how about because he’s on the Sony BMG label? Who knows! It’s not the first time he’s cheated on Apple, and we’re sure as shit it’s not going to be his last. [As seen in the latest issue of Wired Mag]
