After a false start, Comex has finally let loose with JailBreakMe 3.0. This time it’s for real and not a leak.
The newest little step forward for iOS just dropped – and while it’s nothing dramatic (or unexpected), it adds a nice little pinch of new functionality and performance. Here’s what just got a little better about your iPhone/Pad/Pod:
This is weird. On Apple’s iOS 4.3 website, it makes no mention of the Verizon iPhone. In fact, it lists iOS 4.3 as compatible with only these devices: iPhone 4 GSM Model and iPhone 3GS. iPod touch 4th generation and 3rd generation. iPad and iPad 2. The Verizon iPhone 4′s iOS 4.2.6 already has the Personal Hotspot feature but doesn’t have the new AirPlay features and improved Safari browser. [Apple]
Apple just announced iOS 4.3 and it’ll be available for download on March 11. It’ll bring the Nitro Javascript engine from Safari on OS X, iTunes Home Sharing which’ll let you play content over Wi-Fi, and new AirPlay features (App Store apps can use Airplay now).
Boy Genius claims iOS 4.3 is finished and will be launched next week. Makes sense, allowing Steve Jobs to claim that the update will be released “now”, with “now” being when he’s on stage at the iPad announcement. [BGR]
The Daily, the iPad Magazine app that you can actually read for free on a computer, just extended their free access until February 28. Why? Because users need iOS 4.3 in order to do in-app recurring subscriptions. [Macrumors]
iOS 4.3 Beta 3 is now available for download in the iOS Developer centre. We’re taking a look at it soon and will let you know if there’s anything exciting and new since the last beta. [Apple]
