AAPT’s Unlimited Data Plans Killed Off By iiNet Acquisition

It’s a sad day for AAPT’s unlimited broadband plan customers, with James Hutchison from Computerworld reporting that the 24/7 unlimited plans are going to be killed off next month as part of the iiNet acquisition.

iiNet Shareholders Approve AAPT Takeover

Yesterday, iiNet Shareholders voted in favour of the company acquiring AAPT’s consumer division, essentially turning it into the country’s second largest ISP. Which means there’s no excuse for them not offering ADSL2+ at my local exchange now – snap to it, iiNet! [iiNet]

iiNet Buying AAPT’s Consumer Division

The country’s third largest ISP has today announced that they’re planning on buying AAPT’s consumer division from Telecom New Zealand, subject to shareholder approval. The takeover will make them the country’s second largest ISP, overtaking Optus.

AAPT Offering Unlimited Broadband For $100 A Month

How long have we been lamenting data caps with Australian Broadband? While we constantly read about the US complaining that they might have to start dealing with data caps, we sit here wishing for a world where data caps are a thing of the past. Well, yesterday AAPT took a step in that direction by offering an ADSL2+ bundle with unlimited data for $100 a month.
