If You Buy A Used Xbox 360 That’s Been Banned, You’re Screwed

7:50AM Matt Buchanan | Major Nelson, updating us on a periodic Xbox Live purge — banhammering cheaters, pirates and other folks of ill-repute, though not 12-year-olds — reminds us of Microsoft’s official policy that if you buy a used Xbox 360 that’s been banned, you’re screwed. More »

Oracle Of Xbox 360 Packaging Predicts Pro Will Be Murdered In Its Sleep By Cheaper Elite

12:00AM Matt Buchanan | Following the rumour that the pricey Xbox 360 Elite would take on a more populist tack as the standard console to fight the PS3 Slim—shoving aside the current Pro—is new Arcade packaging that totally dumps the Pro. [Kotaku] More »

THQ Confirms Project Natal For 2010

10:53PM Mark Wilson | Even though Microsoft won’t be so specific, we’re all pretty sure that Natal is coming at the end of next year. Now even the boss of THQ (a major game publisher) has grown tired of the elephant in the holiday of 2010, going on record that Natal would be released “late next year.” So why won’t Microsoft just come out and say it to the public? My guess is that they don’t want unforeseen delays to alter public perception. [Kotaku]

10:24PM Mark Wilson | Did anyone else notice? When NXE launched, it was pretty quick. But it’s just gotten slower…and slower. (Thanks ads!) Luckily, Microsoft is admitting there’s an issue and has a plan to fix it. More »

Earnings Report: Go Ahead, Call Microsoft “M$”

9:20AM Matt Buchanan | Apple wasn’t the only one balling this quarter on the back of new computer sales. Microsoft’s profits were up a huge 79 percent against last year to hit US$6.48 billion (on record revenues of US$16.37 billion), mostly thanks to people snapping up Vista-loaded computers (whether they want the OS or not). Olympus Shows off Snazzy 360º Video Projector

9:51PM Seamus Byrne | This is Olympus’ new video projector, with its axial symmetrical free curved surface lens (no, I am not sure, either.) It works with a Charge-Coupled Device (CCD) camera (nope, sorry). It looks good, though, and sounds fantastic (am I doing okay here?). More pictures, including the CCD camera (sigh) right below. Nikon 360 Degree Camera Concept

6:20AM Seamus Byrne | This is a conceptual design by Ye Chen (no relation to our Jason Chen, he isn’t this creative) and isn’t officially associated with Nikon, but it is an interesting design, nonetheless. Rather than having to painstakingly create your own panoramic pictures, this camera does it for you automatically. It has an ergonomic cylindrical form lens that rotates and takes a 360 degree picture. If this were to actually be manufactured I highly doubt it could sell enough to stay afloat, but it could be a good schtick camera. –Travis Hudson Nikon 360 Degree Digital Camera [Yanko] More »
