X-Men: Dark Phoenix

A rumour originating from Portuguese-language fan site Universo X-Men claims that the Skrulls — the infamous shapeshifting cosmic bad guys of Marvel Comics responsible for the “Secret Invasion” storyline, as well as duking it out over the cosmos for eons with the Kree — will make a brief appearance in the movie.

According to the site, a scene outside a UN building featuring Charles Xavier, Magneto, and a few other members of the main cast discussing some kind of Mutant peace deal will be interrupted by an alien attack, and the interlopers will apparently be the Skrulls.

Despite the fact they were otherwise meant to be making their cinematic debut in Marvel’s Captain Marvel movie, the Skrulls could still appear in Fox’s films, as the studio only fully owns specific Skrull characters — the race at large is co-owned between Fox and Marvel. So while it’s best to take this with a pinch of salt, it’s actually possible. [Comicbook.com]

Hellboy

The Hellboy reboot has added three new members to its cast. Sophie Okonedo will play Lady Hatton, a seer at the Osiris Club, while Alistair Petrie plays Lord Adam Glaren, one of the club’s supernatural mystery-solving members. Brian Gleeson has also joined as the wizard, Merlin. As you do. [Deadline]

Venom

Omega Underground reports the movie may adapt 1993’s Venom: Lethal Protector miniseries. In the story, Spider-Man convinces Venom to to go straight and move to San Francisco, only to incur the wrath a previous victims’s bereaved father. Venom teams up with Spider-Man and five new acolytes named Scream, Phage, Riot, Lasher, and Agony to battle the vengeful father’s assemblage of mercenaries.

Meanwhile, THR reports Scott Haze has joined the cast in — surprise, surprise — an undisclosed role.

Avengers 4

John Brolin spoke to Collider about the Russo brothers possibly departing the MCU after the fourth Avengers film.

…Also, I think that they’re in a position very openly and raw-ly where they’re like, ‘We would never do this again. This is a one-time deal. To put this many successful actors together is such a pain in the arse, but it’s been worth it. We’re doing two movies. One back to back, and this is it for us. Then we’ll go off in another direction,’ but this is a very, very, very ambitious project that I think is going to pay off in a big way.

Thor: Ragnarok

Thor and Loki share a moment of understanding in a new clip that begins in a very difference place than where it ends.

Justice League

A new photo has emerged — taken from Zack Snyder’s social account on Vero, his platform of choice for sharing BTS pictures — of Snyder directing Amazons and Atlanteans for a massive battle scene.

AT&T also has a featurette on the The Flash, giving an extended glimpse at Barry’s first encounter with Bruce Wayne.

The X-Files

Chris Carter warns audiences should not assume Langley is still alive, despite appearing in the latest trailer and enjoying a resurrection beneath a secret bunker in Arlington National Cemetery in IDW’s current comic book series. Instead, it could be some weird new thing that just happens to look like Langley:

It’s Langley… but it may not be Langley. We’re not sure how he has manifested. We’re playing with that in a new and different way than we did with [The Lone Gunmen’s] return last season.

Legends of Tomorrow

Episode nine of the new season is titled, “Beebo the God of War,” and if producer Marc Guggenheim’s cryptic tweet is anything to go by, the titular god of war… may be a horrifying fluffy toy?

The Flash

New photos from the third episode of the season, “Luck be a Lady,” have been released. More at the link. [Coming Soon]
