Captain Marvel is the next Marvel to start production and that means we’ll be hearing more and more about it soon. First up, the bad guy.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Ben Mendelsohn, star of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Bloodline, and the upcoming Ready Player One, is in talks to play the villain in the film.
Which villain? The Wrap reports that Mendelsohn would play the leader of the Skrulls, which is in keeping with what we learned about the movie at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. There, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed that Captain Marvel will be set in the 1990s, will include Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, and will feature the shapeshifting aliens known as Skrulls.
And, of course, we also know that Captain Marvel will be played by Brie Larson, the film is being directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, and it’s scheduled for release March 6 2019.[Hollywood Reporter]
