Ridley Scott teases the focus of his next Alien movie. John Constantine is returning to live-action again. Gillian Anderson’s X-Files future is up in the air. Riverdale has found its long-lost Cooper brother. Plus, more footage from Professor Marston and the Wonder Women. Spoilers, away!
Avengers 4
MCU Exchange has unearthed set pictures of multiple cast members on the Russian social media website VK, including Karen Gillen in full make-up as Nebula; Mark Ruffalo wearing a motion-capture suit; Chris Evans; Paul Rudd; and perhaps most strikingly, a very different-looking Jeremy Renner, attired in black skinny jeans and heavily tattooed forearms. Head to the link to see more.
Aquaman
Graham MacTavish has joined the cast of Aquaman in a currently undisclosed role.
Delighted to be able to announce my involvement in #Aquaman. Character has to be secret….for now. It’s going to be awesome! @wbpictures

The Matrix
In a series of tweets, the screenwriter for the proposed new movie said no plans were in action beyond his script just yet, and once again reiterated that what he was writing was neither a reboot or a sequel to the trilogy:
1) Re: the Matrix, yes I’m writing something. Not a reboot, not a continuation, watch Animatrix, read comics to see what wachowskis did
— Zak Penn (@zakpenn) October 6, 2017
2) a script in development is not a movie. No casting, director, style can be discussed yet. Nothing to see here folks…yet.
— Zak Penn (@zakpenn) October 6, 2017
3) no need to put actors or anyone on the spot, because there’s nothing there yet. No reboot or reimagining, no recasting involved.
— Zak Penn (@zakpenn) October 6, 2017
4) and this is not the point in process that those decisions get made. So many hoops to jump through, the first one I gotta do myself.

Alien 6
Appearing as a guest on Empire Magazine‘s official podcast, Ridley Scott revealed the next proposed Alien film will explore AIs gone rogue.
I think the evolution of the Alien himself is nearly over, but what I was trying to do was transcend and move to another story, which would be taken over by AIs. The world that the AI might create as a leader if he finds himself on a new planet. We have actually quite a big layout for the next one.
Lucy 2
Luc Besson published a lengthy statement on Instagram — in French — confirming he is not currently at work on a sequel to 2014’s Lucy, and taking the time to blast the fake news media because sure, it’s 2017, why not.
Star Wars Episode IX
Speaking with Coming Soon at New York Comic Con, John Boyega stated the final chapter of the Star Wars saga will feature “the war to end all wars” under the helm of newly-appointed director, J.J. Abrams.
I think what’s fantastic is it feels like it’s coming back full circle. I don’t know nothing about the script, the story. I don’t know where Finn’s going, I don’t know where Rey is going, but definitely I feel this is the war to end all wars in this movie. I’m interested to know how he will handle that. I’m asking so many questions and I haven’t had a chance to kinda sit down and write J.J. a message just to say congratulations and I’m stoked. My fixation now is that he needs to get some SLEEP and GEAR UP because we’re doing another one of these movies, mate! But I think he’s gonna do a great job, as always. He’s J.J.
Professor Marston & The Wonder Women
The final trailer for the biopic on Wonder Woman’s creator, William Moulton Marston, has been released.
The X-Files
Speaking to the press at New York Comic Con, Gillian Anderson stated she wouldn’t return for a twelfth season should the series continue at Fox.
I think this will be it for me. [It] felt like it wasn’t over. It didn’t feel like we necessarily [delivered] everything the fans were expecting of us last time, and so it was that.
Fox quickly reached out to clarify that Anderson is simply noncomittal over her future in the series as she is still currently filming season 11.
Lucifer
Kevin Carrol has been cast as The Sinnerman, “a mysterious and twisted criminal mastermind with deep-seeded motivations”. The Sinnerman (which sounds less like “cinnamon” if you say it out out) will pursue Lucifer through multiple episodes this season. In an interview with TV Line, co-showrunner Joe Henderson stated, “The Sinnerman is going to make Lucifer go, ‘Oh shit, is this the guy behind my wings?’ Detective Marcus Pierce will have a history with the Sinnerman, so that’s where our stories start to collide.”
Riverdale
Hart Denton has been cast as Betty’s long-lost brother, Chic Cooper.

In related news, Archie becomes a full-blown vigilante in the synopsis for episode three of the second season, “Watcher in the Woods”.
Frustrated by the lack of progress made in catching his father’s shooter, Archie (KJ Apa) takes matters into his own hands in order to send the gunman a message. Meanwhile, Veronica (Camila Mendes) is thrilled when Hiram’s (Mark Consuelos) attempt to start fresh means she gets to introduce him to her friends, including Archie. Elsewhere, Jughead (Cole Sprouse) starts his first day at Southside High and is befriended by a Southside Serpent named Toni (guest star Vanessa Morgan), while Kevin’s (Casey Cott) attempt at having a little fun causes Betty (Lili Reinhart) to grow concerned for his safety. Finally, an unexpected turn of events leads the town to realise their darkest chapter may be far from over.

Scream
Gideon Emery has joined the cast in an undisclosed role.
Legends of Tomorrow
Matt Ryan will return as Constantine to “perform an exorcism,” according to a cryptic tease from showrunner Phil Klemmer:
We get Billy Zane and the circus [in the second episode]; we get a little Julius Caesar on the beach in Aruba in the premiere. We meet [new team member] Zari in this sort of dystopian future. We get to do a little Amblin alien episode back in the ’80s; we do some Jack the Ripper Victorian London; Golden Age of Hollywood; John Constantine doing an exorcism. We do a Freaky Friday episode. The only thing we haven’t been able to do: We really wanted to do an Abba “Waterloo” in then Napoleonic wars but we could not get the rights for the song.
Meanwhile, the team gains a new member in the synopsis for episode three of the new season, “Zari”.
When Sara (Caity Lotz) receives a distress call from their “befriended” agent at the Time Bureau, she learns that they have been tasked with going to the future to capture a rogue time traveller. Unfortunately, the Legends make things worse by trying to protect an outlaw named Zari (Tala Ashe), to hopefully lure in the time travelling assassin. Meanwhile, Stein (Victor Garber) tries to diagnose Amaya’s (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) condition, but Nate (Nick Zano) discovers an unusual treatment that Amaya begrudgingly agrees to.
Constantine
Speaking of Constantine, here’s a poster from TV Line:
The Gifted
Speaking with Screen Rant, Emma Dumont confirmed Polaris will fly this season on The Gifted:
I know I have a lot of wirework, I fly now.
The actress also said the show will explore Lorna Dane’s bipolar disorder.
100% that’s something we’re already doing. You’re totally correct, she has bipolar disorder. She’s unmedicated, she’s not being treated for it, I don’t even know if in our show she knows she has it — but she definitely does. She has major bouts of mania and very, very low times of depression … I think it’s really rad to see [someone] mentally ill — also a woman — be a hero.
Arrow
Onyx debuts in the synopsis for 6×03, “Next of Kin”.
A rogue black ops team led by Onyx (guest star Chastity Dotson) breaks into Kord Industries and steals something lethal. Oliver (Stephen Amell) struggles to connect with William (guest star Jack Moore) so he reaches out to a surprising source for help.
We also have pictures of Black Canary and the KGBeast from episode 6×02, “Tribute”. More available at Coming Soon.
The Flash
Hazard makes the scene in the synopsis for 4×03, “Luck Be a Lady”.
Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team are hit by a string of bad luck and realise it is the handiwork of a new meta, Becky (guest star Sugar-Lyn Beard) nicknamed Hazard, who has the ability to give others bad luck, while cashing in the benefits for herself.
Supergirl
Maggie’s dad returns to crash her wedding shower in the synopsis for episode three of season three, “Far From the Tree”.
Eliza (guest star Helen Slater) throws Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie (guest star Floriana Lima) a wedding shower, which causes Maggie to reach out to her estranged father (guest star Carlos Bernard). Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) joins J’onn (David Harewood) on a personal mission.
Meanwhile, Psi debuts in pictures from her self-titled episode. More available at Coming Soon.
Ash vs The Evil Dead
