As confirmed this morning, Star Wars: Episode VIII is now officially Star Wars: the Last Jedi.
But who is the last Jedi? It’s not exactly a secret, really – or is it?
It’s kinda right there. Even Mark Hamill calls it “straightforward.”

But that hasn’t stopped everyone from maybe reading a little too much into it. The main point of contention is pretty solid, though – Jedi could be a plural.

“The Last Jedi” can mean Luke Skywalker and Rey together. Jedi is singular or plural.

The Last Jedi is written and directed by Rian Johnson, produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman, and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski.
The film is scheduled for release in Australia on December 14 2017.
