Twitter’s New ‘Connect’ Tab Makes Finding People To Follow Easier

The “Connect” tab is a new feature on Twitter rolling out on Android and iOS today that replaces the existing “Find People” tab — with the main difference being that Connect will give you detailed, curated recommendations of people to follow.

Twitter has based its suggestions on who you already follow, tweets you like, who is popular in your local area and current world events.

You can also automatically sync your address book, with Twitter then showing you which of your contacts are using the platform, and who isn’t — so you can bug them with an invite.

Twitter says the primary reason for the update is to make it easier to follow more tweeters.

“Finding new accounts to follow used to require jumping through a few hoops and a dash of luck,” Twitter states. “That’s why we’ve reimagined the experience with our new Connect tab. Starting today, you’ll see a detailed list of people and accounts we think you’ll enjoy following, all easily accessible in one place.”

Twitter said it will also let you know exactly why account recommendations are made for you, and will continue to refine them over time.

You’ll need to update your app to see the new change.
