Season 6 Of Game Of Thrones Is Coming On April 25

This year, Game Of Thrones is coming to Australia at the same time as it premieres in the US again — as long as you have Foxtel. If you do, you can catch the first episode on Monday, April 25 at 11am.

This is the first season where smug book-readers won't be able to spoil the ending for you, though if you're a book fanatic yourself, the show may very well spoil the yet-to-be-released Winds of Winter for you. However, we thus far know very little about the plot of Season 6, though a few hints have been dropped.

Aussie actress Essie Davis (who you may remember from The Babadook) is joining the cast for the new season, depicting an actress who appears to be playing Cersei in a play based on the Red Wedding. She also seems to meet up with Arya at some point, as evidenced by this photo uploaded to Instagram. For anything more, we'll just have to wait for the inevitable trailers that will have to tide us over until April.

Have you read all the books, or do you only follow the show? What do you think will happen in Season 6? Tell us all about it in the comments!

Only follow the show as I'd be gutted if George R. R. Martin were to cark it and I'd be partway through the books... books take way more commitment than a TV show.

Can't wait to see how Foxtel deal with piracy and this one... If it was on Netflix here Foxtel would only have sport left...

Be the same as before; Foxtel will do everything to make piracy worse for themselves, :-P.

They barely have any important sport's left anyway, what with Optus securing the rights to the EPL. Good riddance to them i say. They need to learn to adapt and compete or just shrivel up and die.

April 25 at 11am, I'm sure everyone in Australia will be glued to their foxtel boxes for that premiere time. Nice schedule, no conflicts with anything. Idiots.

It's being aired at the same time as the US. It's funny, people piss and moan about having to wait, but then people will piss and moan about NOT having to wait.

        I can hear them now.
"I only downloaded it illegally because I was marching with the diggers. If Foxtel can't fit into MY Schedule then I feel entitled to."

Most Foxtel owners have foxtel IQ set top boxes, now. As soon as it is broadcast they'll have it ready and waiting for them to watch when they want in the evening... It's kinda hard for them to complain :/

Pretty keen to see what part Ian McShane plays in this season.

My guess is he'll be the leader of the clan/army that's left surrounding Daenerys Targaryen and her dragon at the end of season 5.... but we'll see.

If you google it, you'll find out pretty quickly who he's meant to be playing. He kind of spoiled it in an interview after one of the recent teasers dropped.

Such a good actor, loved him in deadwood (boo hiss at that show getting cancelled - was sooo good)

You might be happy to know then there's been a deadwood movie confirmed in the last few days.

I'm think he's playing Han Solo.

I for one will not be buying Foxtel's inferior "Game of Thrones" product this year. We paid them last year and got the series in SD without surround sound. Very disappointing. You blew it Foxtel! You are a dinosaur and deserve to go extinct.
