TPG Has Made iiNet Head David Buckingham Redundant: Report

With the ACCC recently giving TPG the thumbs-up to add internet service provider iiNet to its collective consciousness, the telco has wasted little time tidying up shop. First by canning Fetch TV and now, going by reports, it’s made iiNet CEO David Buckingham redundant.

Rumblings first appeared on Whirlpool a few days ago, with a user by the handle “ShhSecret” stating Buckingham had been “forcefully made redundant”.

The Age’s Ben Grubb was then able to get in touch with a number of sources, all who were able to authenticate the report that he was “let go”.

I’m sure it’ll come as a massive surprise that Grubb’s attempts to contact either company about Buckingham — as well as the man himself — went unanswered. It’s anyone’s guess as to TPG’s next move… what’s left to swing the scythe at?
