Xerox’s Robot Printer Brings Your Documents Right To You

Xerox’s Robot Printer Brings Your Documents Right To You

The one advantage to the paperless office being nowhere in sight is that every time you print something you get to leave your desk and waste time while wandering over to the copy room. At least until Fuji Xerox’s robot printer concept that delivers printed documents right to your desk becomes commonplace.

Thanks to an all-seeing laser LIDAR scanner perched atop the machine that creates a 3D map of a room for navigation purposes, the robot can manoeuvre around desks and other obstacles with ease. And to keep private documents private, it doesn’t actually start printing until it arrives at the desk of whoever requested its services. So your opportunities to chat with Ted in accounting every time you need a TPS report might be numbered. [Tech-On]
