See Game Of Thrones’ Characters Living In The 80s and 90s

Mike Wrobel is a brilliant graphic artist — he’s made some great pop pieces inspired by movies like Fight Club, Escape From New York, Inception and Alien, and from shows like Breaking Bad, True Blood and The Sopranos. One of his most recent works is a three-piece series for HBO, commissioned to inaugurate the fourth season of Game of Thrones, but in 2013 he also re-imagined the show’s main characters as if they were living in the ’80s and ’90s.

Wrobel’s most recent triptych, for the Beautiful Death website, shows some great moments from the first season of the show (with major spoilers to avoid, if you’re still living in the past). They’re beautiful monochromatic works in a realistic comic style, but his older work for GoT is even more spectacular.

Imagine all your favourite Game of Thrones characters living in the worlds of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and San Andreas. That’s what these 22 wallpaper-sized images, created by Mike Wrobel, are all about. Our favourite has to be the neon-fluoro White Walker, but Jon Snow is a close second. You can check out all the works on the artist’s Tumblr, and even buy them as tees and prints. [Mike Wrobel / MOSHI-KUN]
