The Hollywood Reporter claims that producers are tapping up Danny Boyle and Leonardo di Caprio to take on the the latest in a string of Steve Jobs flicks. Rumour has it that the director of Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire and the London Olympics opening ceremony is to take on the movie after Aaron Sorkin’s pal David Fincher — you saw his work on The Social Network — reportedly bowed out.
Fincher had wanted Christian Bale for the title role, though the actor was never signed, but it seems that Boyle would like relive his days working on The Beach by shooting with di Caprio.
It’s still early days for the film, with production looking to begin either late this year or early 2015. With this all-star cast it’s bound to do better than last year’s Jobs, which starred Ashton Kutcher and only pulled in $US35 million worldwide. [The Hollywood Reporter via The Guardian]
