Google Play is fast becoming a one-stop shop for Android content in Australia, with the announcement today that TV shows will now be available locally.
First spotted by Ausdroid, Google Play will now carry TV shows from both Australian and international networks, including Game Of Thrones and several other HBO programs.
It’s unclear whether Game of Thrones will come to Play soon after its broadcast on Foxtel for the upcoming season, given the fact that the pay TV network has tied up exclusive rights to the show in a bid to keep it away from services like iTunes.
Here’s hoping the launch of TV shows for Australia means that Chromecast is on its way. [Google via Ausdroid]
