You know how the Galaxy Note 3 has faux-leather backing ? And also a few of Samsung’s PRO tablets ? It doesn’t end there. The Chromebook 2 is your first pleather Chromebook. That doesn’t make it a premium product, no. But it’s kind of a nice touch!
Samsung’s new Chromebook 2 comes in two flavours — 11.6 inches and 13.3 inches — both of which sport the faux-leather stitched back, 16GB of storage, 4GB of RAM, a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor, a 720p front-facing camera, a built-in premium to the (wonder) AirDroid service, and boast over eight hours of battery life. The smaller one has a 1366×768 display, while its larger brother has a more serious Full HD 1920×1080 one. Nothing to sneeze at but you wouldn’t confuse them for a full-powered rig.
The Chromebook 2 is available in black and white in the 11.6-inch version for $US320, and grey for the 13.3-inch version for $US400 starting this April. Australian pricing and availability is yet to be announced.
