Photographer Pelle Cass had a genius idea for his series Selected People: What if he took hundreds of pictures from the same location and then picked out people and animals from each of those pictures and combined them into a single image. It shows the random life of a single setting in one image.
Wired says that Cass usually sets up his camera on a tripod in the Boston area and snaps over a hundreds photos (sometimes 300!) from that same spot. He then goes back and looks at each photo and pulls out interesting people or things into the final image. Sometimes there’s a theme, other times it can be completely random.
It’s fascinating work that’s sometimes comedic. You can see more of Cass’s photography here.
