When the Xbox One was first announced, we scolded stores like JB Hi-Fi, EB Games and Harvey Norman for being wallies with their “pre-orders”. Now that we have an official price for the Xbox One, pre-order pages have been updated to demonstrate some common-sense.
Naturally, Microsoft was the first to put up its Xbox One pre-order page. It’s all pretty basic: $599 gets you the basics.
EB Games updated its pre-order page, again with the magic number coming in at $599.
Meanwhile, JB Hi-Fi is doing its best to be a “loss-leader”, offering the Xbox One for $598, complete with some pretty disclaimers.
Harvey Norman — a company that we praised for doing pre-orders right the first time around — hasn’t updated its pre-order page at the time of publication, so it’s still showing a crazy $888 price.
Will you pre-order the Xbox One?
