Installing an off-shore gas platform can be a tricky proposition. Things can go very wrong. That’s exactly what happened with this $US40 million Iranian platform was being installed in the Persian Gulf.
As terrifying as the footage is, there were no reported casualties; looks like everyone knew how to swim.
Still, that’s a lot of cash going down the drain, and boy does it ever look like $US40 million worth of pure, unadulterated terror. [Reddit]

Yeah, pretty sure they'll be able to retrieve it, the water isn't that deep.
anyone know the cause? the sand underneath shifting? just a wonky installation?
for the retrieval - would they have to disassemble it underwater, since hauling it up as is might warp the structure?
It was the cloverfield monster. Lol
Really? you paused then you laughed out loud?
I dont believe it
Okay.
they can definitely recover that sucker - there was a post on gizmodo about it ages ago, the giant claw game boat thing...yea...
THE CLAWWWWWWWWWWWW!
But will it cost 40million to pull it up and repair it?
haha probably - but will it blend?
