With every groundbreaking update or fix that a company rolls out, someone’s life crumbles just a little.
Whether it’s a little software tweak in an OS update or a subtle change to hardware on a new model, companies like Apple and Microsoft are always trying to iron out the kinks. Which, for most of us, is great!
But while we’ve all grown to live with bugs and quirks, for some people they can become part of what they do. They don’t mind fourteen buttons presses when one would do. In fact, they’ve come to rely on it. Spare a thought for those people next time you casually update. [XKCD]

Nice. A change management joke!
i have an older phone with a slightly dodgy headphone jack which causes the phone to occasionally behave as though the inline audio buttons are being randomly pressed. i was really disappointed when the custom ROM i use added inline audio control support as a part of an update as i now need to run a seperate app to block these inputs.
woe is me.
I find that all the time with a lot of the software I use. e.g. For some inexplicable reason, Adobe took the Render|Lighting Effects filter in Photoshop out of CS5 or 5.5 (it's still there in my CS4 but not in CS5.5 at work). It is an effect I like to use fairly regularly but I suspect it was buggy and they couldn't be bothered fixing it or something.
