Why Recycle When You Can Turn Your Old Hardware Into A MIDI Symphony?

At this point, every city has a facility that will process all of your old electronics. But instead of doing the responsible thing and recycling your unwanted gear, it turns out you can turn it into a giant electronic symphony specialising in Bob Dylan's hits.

Thanks for the inspiration, Brother! We all now have a better appreciation for the fax machines, photocopiers and scanners we thought were all becoming completely obsolete. And if you ever decide to add a Bob Dylan mode to your printers, we'll all replace our Canons and HPs faster than you can say the times they are a-changin'. [Vimeo via designboom]

I feel that this is missing a dial-up modem solo

Well, Brother should know about planned obsolescence. I just bought one of their cheap laser printers to discover that when the ink runs out it'll be cheaper for me to buy a new printer than it would be to buy a new toner cartridge.

As much as I like their try you can tell that it was a little faked. Now this is how it's really done: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ht96HJ01SE4
