US Air Force Tests Doomsday Nuclear Launch Attack

If Lenin ever leaps out of his coffin and starts singin' nukes at Rhode Island, this is how America will seek her justice: a nuclear-tipped Minuteman III rocket, aimed straight down Moscow's throat. Will it work? Watch and see!

Just to make sure all the buttons still work and there isn't too much dust in the computers, the missile team at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California gave the anti-Soviet attack system a trial run. A single Minuteman III arced skyward, wishing it had a real target instead of just plopping into the sea like a chump. But the Pentagon really went all out for this test, using the '60s Airborne Launch Control System to pull the trigger — basically, a way of remotely launching nukes in case the Red Menace hits us before we can hit them. From the video and the brief cheer of a woman in attendance, it looks like the US is OK. [The Aviationist]

Lenin is in a tomb, didn't have nukes in his time, nor was he the type to press the button. Wrong villain bro.

Isn't he on display still in a glass coffin and not in a tomb?

Lenin would have to leap out of the coffin, and break out of his tomb to press those buttons.

The real villains are those in the vid. ;)

The clue is that they were itching for an excuse to anhilate several million people.

So America feels it is ok to respond by murdering millions of innocent civilians?

How about focusing on a defensive capability to stop the attack in the first place.

It has a defence, MAD. A defence system like you talk about is actually the opposite of a good idea, because then other people would get them.

Look up "Mutually Assured Destruction", affectionately known as "MAD". Likely one of the reasons the cold war never turned hot, and a living example of "The best defense is a good offense."

That's what the end of the world looks like.

America is one of THE most war mongering nations on Earth. Since its creation there hasn't been one single moment in its history that it wasn't at war. Americans are like Klingons, but with worse table manners.

And that twit that cheered is a prime example of their mentality and stupidity. Personally, I think the U.S. should be nuked from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

    They AIN'T the "good guys".
