Virgin Mobile’s 4G Goes Live Today, Samsung Galaxy S III 4G Pre-Orders Open


Yesterday we saw Optus out plans for consumer 4G services and the unanswered question was whether or not the network would be shared amongst the telco’s mobile virtual network operators (MVNO) like Virgin Mobile. Wonder no more, Virgin customers, for your network has come through for you, announcing plans to offer 4G and the Samsung Galaxy S III 4G to boot.

Virgin announced today that 4G network connectivity for its customers is available from today, with online pre-orders opening up for the Galaxy S III 4G from this morning.

Here’s the pricing for the device on Virgin Mobile:

You’ll be paying a few dollars extra per month for the device on all plans bar the $89 Topless plan, which includes unlimited calls, unlimited text and 4GB worth of included data.

Yep, you read it right. You can get exactly the same network coverage with Virgin with exactly the same device for a less of your hard-earned per month. Well played, Virgin.
