Google+ Birthday Reminders Comes To Search

Yesterday, Google put up an ad for its Nexus 7 tablets on the US Google home page. Today, the search giant will also start rolling out birthday reminders for people in your Google+ circles.

Placing the birthday reminders on the search page serves the dual purpose of promoting Google+ and giving you one less reason to visit Facebook. For those of you who don’t like the way it interferes with the minimalist design of the iconic home page, it probably won’t be long until some industrious developer builds a Chrome extension to make it go away. Google says the birthday reminders will gradually roll out over coming days. [Google+ via The Next Web]
