Auto Cable Winder Cures Knotted Headphones

If you spend more time untangling your headphones than listening to music, and turn your nose up at clunky wireless solutions, consider these automatic Recoil winders that make the grandiose promise of knot-free cables.

Not only are they a rare Kickstarter win, but they actually appear to deliver on everything they promise. When you're done with your headphones — or any cable, since they're available in three different sizes — you just hook the wire onto the Recoil and give it a slight tug. It's quickly wound onto a spindle that guarantees the wires won't magically become a rat's nest while bouncing around in your bag.

Unravelling your cables is just as easy, and at $US10 for the earbud-sized model and $US15 for heftier charging cables, it's a pretty cheap way to prolong the life of all your wires. Not to mention a great way to minimise the knot rage that plagues our mobile society. [Recoil Winders via T3]

these are great! I have had some for a couple of months now and would highly reccomend them!

Same here, got them when they had their KickStarter drive and they really are handy to utilise.

pretty good ad for them. may have bought some... will go well when travelling and keeping cables in the carry on

Headphone recoil total of $15.55 US -> $15.05 Delivered in AUS

That was a really helpful comment, Jack. Thanks.

Ermm looks cool and all, but that's a serious kink in the wire and a lot of pressure on the head end! How strong is that spring, 'cos it looks kinda strong. Plus the way it stops all of a sudden at the end...

If you're worried about that then just don't let the headphones go and move with the spring so that it rests gently.
