Try as they might, no human born of mortal parents will ever create a DIY project that’s more nerdy than this epic leather fur-lined gauntlet that includes a built-in digital Dungeons & Dragons dice roller.
Posted as a tutorial on SparkFun’s site by user Dia, the gauntlet embodies everything that is awesome about DIY geeky projects. While it looks like a prop straight out of Game of Thrones, the addition of a digital display and a series of switches lets you roll 100, 20, 12, 10, 8, 6 and 4-sided virtual dice with — get this — a shake of your wrist.
I think it’s safe to say we can turn off the internet today people, because Dia has just won it all. [SparkFun Electronics via The Mary Sue via BoingBoing]

Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 8:26 PMA gauntlet is a glove that extends up the forearm. This is not a gauntlet. Just guessing, but I think it’s a sleeve. A stupid sleeve.
