Samsung Puts Vacuum Tube Amps In New Blu-ray Home Theater Gear

It’s kind of hard to impress anyone in home theatre anymore, but you’ll probably pull it off with a no-one-can-hear-you-scream vacuum in your living room.

Samsung’s new 7.1 Channel Blu-ray 3D Home theatre System has built-in vacuum tube amplifiers, which provides warmer sound. Samsung will be showing off the new system, along with a wireless 3D Blu-ray system, at CES next week. The vacuum tube home theatre system is the first to use a vacuum amplifier, so this, along with the accompanying dock, is the first time you’ll be able to manipulate electrons in a tube to make your TV sound prettier. Is it the same vaccuum tubes they used to put in to radios that required to warm up?

    I’ll take some 6080 or 6AS7.
But seriously, if this is legit, wouldn’t they be tiny little miniature tube of some low power variety for long life (and probably soldered on)
