Hey film producers: the awesome 3D tech built by the Cameron Pace Group (CPG) for films like Avatar is heading to Oz. Says the director, “3D is the future for both film and broadcasting. We are very excited about enabling more world-class 3D productions in Australia.”
The local office will be helmed by Andrew Wight, producer of Australian 3D adventure flick, Sanctum, on which Cameron served as executive producer.
Wight told Encore Magazine that “there’s a wealth of creative talent in this country, and now we can provide the 3D know-how and equipment to match that talent.”
Sounds great, but please keep these cameras away from Mick Molloy and Peter Helliar.

Sunday, January 22, 2012 at 2:07 PMI will never watch another film in 3D until I can do it without getting a headache, without having to wear special glasses and without having to pay extra for the “privilege”. I’ve seen several 3D film and found nothing at all compelling about the experience. It is a gimmick that adds nothing to the story.

Sunday, January 22, 2012 at 5:47 PMI have yet to see a decent 3d movie with great depth, apart from ocean wonderland and a PS3 game, and my TV wont allow me to adjust depth. The glasses nor the 3D dose not give me a headache. I am impressed with blu ray since purchasing a decent HD TV and i feel a good 3D hi def movie is worth investing in, since i would more interested in watching it again. Blu ray is the only way to watch shows in hi def, since most of the free to air channels only transmit in SD.

Friday, February 10, 2012 at 12:43 PMThis article is all future tense, in that the studio is ‘going to be built’, but hasn’t been built yet. Unfortunately I would suspect that with the tragic passing of Andrew Wight & Mike deGruy last week that this may be in doubt.
