You can buy a lot of things for a grand. A second-hand car, a bedroom suite… the list goes on and on and on. But up until now, that list has never included a 1080p projector. Which does make me wonder why…
The W1060 is a 1080p projector with 2000 ANSI lumens and a 5000:1 contrast ratio, dual HDMI outputs and a projected screen size of up to 300 inches. From a spec perspective, it seems pretty damned decent for the price.
It does only come in white and is available through OfficeWorks, but they aren’t really downsides now, are they?
Has anyone picked one of these up? What did you think?

Monday, January 9, 2012 at 5:02 PMThe Optoma HD20 (1080) from Amazon offers better bang for buck. You can usually get it delivered to Aust at around $950

Monday, January 9, 2012 at 5:25 PMIt does seem to be a hastily written article. This is the first time for a sub-$1000 projector … since the last sub-$1000 projector. Anyone remember the Optoma HD80?

Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 11:45 AMPurchased this projector last week form Office Works
Amazing device for under $1000.00
I Have the projector setup to display a 150inch diagonal image,
The picture clarity, color tones and definition makes the picture look almost natural.
I’m also very happy with the sound quality through the internal 10-W speakers.
This projector has ample connectivity ports for my 360, blue ray, Wii, Foxtel. With one touch I can switch between different devices.
For under $1000.00, would highly recommend.

Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 7:26 PMAny sign of the Rainbow Effect on this model, for those that have it? Often more noticeable in the cheaper models with slower colour wheels etc.
