With the imminent launch of the Galaxy Nexus, I guess Vodafone wants to try and clear out some stock of the Galaxy S II. Why else would they cut the price of one of the year’s best phones just before Christmas?
The Android handset is now available for $0 up front on a $29 cap plan, dropping the $10/month handset repayment. That’s exceptionally good value for such a highly regarded handset, although hopefully Voda has managed to fix those GPS issues…

Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 3:03 PMHow else do you get even with the company that sued you? Reduce the price of your best handset and poach the potential customer base thats how.
Theyre certainly not stupid, because this is a very clever move.

Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 4:43 PMSince the update has come out, my gps works great! Before I had like a 10% chance of it working. So im glad they sorted that issue out. I just have one more problem with my phone, the auto-focus doesnt work!

I’ve still got 9 months left on my Galaxy S 1, $49/month with Optus, and am almost considering getting this.

Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 5:46 PMI would take it on a 12 month contract, but 24 no thanks. Will be alot better phones out within that time. Still, would be nice to ditch the iphone 3G.

Friday, December 16, 2011 at 11:27 AMWhy drop the price? because they are sold out of the iPhone 4s and don’t want to lose customers to Optus and Telstra who have stock at this busy time of year.
