The Stark Difference Between North Korea And South Korea From Space

If you want to know the true effect of departed despot Kim Jong-il (and his father Kim Il-Sung), just take a look at this sad, sad picture of North Korea and South Korea at night from space. South Korea is like any other modern country, lit up with life. North Korea is completely dark.

Seriously, North Korea is the area on the map completely devoid of any light. It’s sad that the people of North Korea have to live through such bleak circumstances because of their terrible leaders. [Slate]

Perhaps street lighting everywhere should have movement sensors so that they aren’t left on all night needlessly :-)

what is also sad is how much light and energy the world is wasting! Other countries should also look like North Korea, but for obviously different reasons.
