Those nauseating RIAA hypocrites were caught illegally downloading $US9 million of TV shows. Now they are giving the same pathetic excuse given to them by the people they accused of pirating songs: “someone was using our IP address.”
Somebody please make these sanctimonious pretenders walk the plank.
Talking to CNET, RIAA said that “those partial IP addresses are similar to block addresses assigned to RIAA. However, those addresses are used by a third party vendor to serve up our public Web site. As I said earlier, they are not used by RIAA staff to access the Internet.”
The fact is that the IP address are not “similar to block addresses assigned to RIAA.” They are assigned to the RIAA, period. That said, who is the “third party vendor”, RIAA? Who are the bad guys now? Not you, obviously. Everyone knows you are not the most obnoxious, useless, bloodsucking lazy phony bastard thieves in the planet. There has to be a third party, someone guiltier than thou.
And who the hell gives a third party the use of your organization’s IPs?
But don’t worry, we will give you the benefit of the doubt even if it’s a bullshit excuse. The same benefit of the doubt that you gave to those who used the same pathetic reply, the people you sued into oblivion.
In other words: I hope they destroy you. [TorrentFreak and Cnet]

Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 9:40 AMWe need to follow this case closely as any excuse given can then be used by all that are targeted by the RIAA

Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 10:03 AMI would laugh if all those who had been sued did a class action law suit against RIAA for pirating copy protected material.
Or better yet the artists themselves sue them for lost revenue. though only problem is this would prolly open the flood gates of hurt on us long term

Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 2:43 PMWhat I find most incredulous about this while incident is the fact they are trying to use the very excuse they have told everyone they have sued that has said “someone else used my IP” is bullshit. Completely flies in the face of any shred of credibility they have.

Friday, December 23, 2011 at 1:18 AMThey never had any credibility but the rest of what you say is true! It’s a shame there isn’t some other body able to sue them.
