MacBook Pro Discontinued? New Models Coming?

Gizmodo AU

Nothing like a good Apple rumour to get your juices flowing of a morning, is there? This morning we received a tip off that hardware supplier, Express Online, is telling its customers that the MacBook Pro has been discontinued. New MacBook Pro Airs incoming?

When searching for a 13-inch MacBook Pro model, the supplier responds with the message:

“**This product has been discontinued by the vendor and is only available while stocks last on a no return basis. Standard Warranty conditions apply”

It may be nothing, or it may be everything, but it does add some much needed* flames to the Mac Pro refresh rumour fire.

[Thanks tipster!]

*Not really.

No guys, these are the Early 2011 models, that have been replaced by the LATE 2011 products.
Note the 2.7Ghz chip as the obvious give away.
Stop stirring the pot with poor information, 2 seconds of research would have fixed this sloppy journalism.

      Well spotted :–].

Having said that, how cool would it be if 13″ MBA replaced the 13″ MBP line?

Correct me if I’m wrong but the MBA use the Intel ULV chips? And you want that on the “pro” line? No thanks.

Once Ivy Bridge arrives and fixes most of the Airs graphical limitations, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Airs really start to diminish the Pros sales.
Personally that is what I am waiting for; a 15″ MBA (or whatever it gets called) with Ivy Bridge.

I can’t believe you’re even publishing this nonsense. You’ve clearly learned nothing about the whole let’s-publish-every-rumour-we-can-find-about-the-iphone-5-before-finding-out-it-never-even-existed farce.
