Stores are closing at 5:30pm and reopening at 6:00pm just to accommodate the massive savings. Also on offer:

• 10% Off Apple Mac Computers (excludes iPad)
• 10% Off TVs (excludes Soniq & Okano)
• 15% Off Computers (excludes Apple, Sony Vaio & all Tablets)

Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 1:19 PMThe fundamental rule of credit [cards]: credit is the timing difference between income and expenditure. Ergo, credit cards and their 55-day interest free period are very handy to cover you between when you get need to buy something and when you get paid.

Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 1:20 PMBesides, lots of folks get paid on a date, like “the 14th of every month”.

Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 4:52 PMBut aren’t BluRays region coded? ie, won’t play on my Oz PS3 (for example).
Ryan
Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 5:56 PMThey are, not all are region coded. Even then we are in region B which is the same as Europe: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?ie=UTF8&nodeId=502554
Frank M
Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 5:56 PMThe UK is the same region for Blurays as Australia. Have bought several in the past without problems. Waaay cheaper than buying them locally.

Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 7:10 PMcheap xbox (although Harvey N had them cheaper) but that’s it really. give me the discounts on all apple and Sony stuff. most of the rest is only now competitive with shopbot.com.au (no i don’t have any connection with shopbot)

Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 8:05 PMThanks for the heads up Gizmodo.
However, a friend once said to me, “you can go broke saving money”. I think I proved this true tonight: I just spent nearly a grand on an Apple Mac mini, 2 iPod dock clock radios and a CD. None of these were essential but the discounts were so enticing… although I wish Apple weren’t so stingy with their discounting.

Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 8:24 PMSpent ages there tonight as I got two games then on the way out realised that I had paid full retail for them. Spent the next 20 minutes showing them the sale prices on my phone (What did people do before mobile internet?) and waiting for a manager to do a refund.
