Kim Jong-il, the former supreme leader of North Korea who died on Saturday of cardiac arrest at 69, was known for his quirks, including an obsession with Elizabeth Taylor. But scientists say his idiosyncrasies added up to some serious diagnoses.
Specifically, a team of scientists in 2009 diagnosed Mr. Jong-il as sadistic, paranoid, antisocial, narcissistic, schizoid and schizotypal. They put him in good company: according to the researchers he shares his mental illnesses with Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Saddam Hussein.
Nothing to worry about now that that the Dear Leader has passed? Not exactlty. His son Kim Jong-un is expected to inherit his father’s throne. Know what else he probably inherited? Yes, a wonderful hairdo, and possibly also dad’s personality disorders, most of which have a genetic component.
