You gotta hand it to Steve Wozniak, he’s his own man. When there’s a new toy he wants, it doesn’t matter if there’s an Apple on it or not, he’s going to get it. He’ll go straight to Google if necessary.

He was gifted an Android 4.0 t-shirt as well. I have to say this is one of the things I love about Woz. In general, I think there’s too much fealty in tech. But sometimes we must remind ourselves that technology isn’t a religion. A cool thing is a cool thing. Tech agnosticism is a beautiful practice. What Would Woz Do? He’d get his hands on what is arguably the hottest phone of the year before the rest of us. Who among us wouldn’t do the same? [Adam Powell and Nicolas Roard via Slashgear]

Monday, November 21, 2011 at 11:26 AMOh is the fanboi bitter because the Apple co-founder is enjoying the company of the competition? Grow up iFool. Wozniak is entitled to do whatever he likes in whatever manner he pleases.

Monday, November 21, 2011 at 1:20 PMHow so? If you had bothered to read the full story (not this one) he was trying to buy it privately, but when Google found out they offered him one before the US release date if they he came and collected in person.

Monday, November 21, 2011 at 5:31 PMYou’re an idiot. Watch ANY of the Woz’s interviews. His love of gadgets is infectious. This is the guy who has 4 x IP4s, 2 on each network and for colour variation because he loves them. He also happens to love Android, and as co-founder of Apple, he was given one.
Now how about stop being an insecure child.

Monday, November 21, 2011 at 2:32 PMTech agnosticism is something we should all strive for.
Woz is often seen as the kind of mascot of high tech gadgets… if gadget fans strove to be a little more like him, there wouldn’t be so many ‘fanboi’ arguments around.

Monday, November 21, 2011 at 5:06 PMbehind the crowd lies the problem with android. Statues of honeycomb, gingerbread and ICS. Pick a freaking operating system and stick with it FFS. Talk about confusing the consumers.
Steve
Monday, November 21, 2011 at 5:35 PMYou realise that for the most part, those desserts were just internal names that gained popularity within the geek community, and that the 2.2, 2.3, 3.0, 4.0 nomenclature still exists right? And that it’s ALL the same operating system, Android? They’re not distinct OSes you know.
Most ‘normal’ people who buy an Android phone don’t know anything about the dessert classification and don’t particularly care. The only people you hear talking about “Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich” are gadget fans who aren’t confused at all. Good things can happen if you don’t treat your customers like idiots, and Android’s numbers are showing that.

A little education can cure that confusion mate.

Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 4:08 PMAh Woz.
The only Apple Jedi who has not succumbed to the dark side of brand-based fanaticism.
A cool gadget is a cool gadget.
A cooler gadget is one that works properly. Can’t comment on the Nexus as I’ve never seen one. Yet.

Monday, November 28, 2011 at 10:36 AMCorey. As if woz needs to attempt to stay relevant. he has probably forgotten mre about tech than most of us could learn in our lifetimes. A little respect goes a long way.
