As a collective, we humans seem to be quite unimaginative and well, very lazy. Just take a look at how many people’s passwords are so dumb and easy to guess. Here are the 25 worst (a.k.a. most popular) passwords of 2011.
It’s pretty similar to results from previous years but that shouldn’t really come as a surprise, right? It’s not like the computer, keyboard, password and human brain were invented yesterday. We’re not that much different year to year. The rankings were created by SplashData who gathered the data from the millions of stolen passwords posted online by hackers in 2011.

Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 7:43 AMThis is the same list that a number of sites were reporting yesterday. In reality, this list if very old. For example, trustno1 is from x-files, which hasn’t been popular for many years.

I saw this same list on the Sydney Morning Herald site last week!
Not very tech savvy if the SMH is beating you to the punch!

Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 10:57 AMIt’s a list of passwords, I don’t think they were claiming to be ‘tech-savvy’.

Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 9:26 PMI dunno mine is “qwerty” it’s easy to remember and obviously a good choice seeing how popular it is :) number 4.. but I guess I could change it to password but that’s kind of boring. Thanks for the tip on alternatives for me though giz
