Microsoft is trying to hire new employees by luring them with god’s greatest creation, the devil’s most delicious treat and man’s greatest love: bacon. They’ve set up a bacon cart outside of Amazon’s offices and will give away free bacon to everyone. EAT BACON, WORK MICROSOFT.
This isn’t lame sauce light bacon either, it’s the good juicy fatty stuff that can be topped with Sriracha, spray cheese, peanut butter, maple syrup and chocolate sauce. The idea of the bacon cart work trap was created by ad agency Wexley School for Girls because Microsoft wanted to double its Kinect for Windows team from 35 to 70. And with good engineers typically already working for other companies, the bacon cart is a great ploy for Microsoft to grab their attention and tell them to “Wake up and Smell the Future”.
The food cart is serving free bacon today at Amazon headquarters in South Lake Union, Seattle and has plans to move over to Fremont on Tuesday to be near Adobe and Google. I wonder if I’ll think of Microsoft the next time I eat bacon. [Seattle Times via The Next Web]

Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 12:04 PM1. People who believe it’s wrong to eat it because an ancient book tells them so
2. Meh, their choice. Guess they’re not a demographic this campaign targets.

Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 3:59 PMReally? I had no idea how working for a tech company and being jewish/muslim are somehow mutually exclusive. Please, tell me more.

Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 12:09 PM3. Microsoft is probably targeting Engineers and these guys can be any of these so… Molokov is kinda right there…
Stop the hate people

Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 1:20 PMThat bacon is probably reconstituted camel meat anyway, by the looks of its packaging, so Jews and Muslims should be okay.
As for the vegies – they’re used to being ignored so it won’t bother them any more than a night at a restaurant (do you have them in America?) would.
Gob smacked by stupidity
Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 1:32 PMFunny, advertising using bacon is now hateful hahahha Can the general population of the US get any stupider? I fear they can. Bacon, for men and women, who worship the magical creature, the pig.

Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 1:54 PMFrom my experience there is a hugely significant population of Muslim employees out there in the IT sector. I’m sure it’s no different in US, and there’s bound to be a significant population of Jewish employees over there.
Opinions on belief and ancient books aside, they’re alienating a rather significant group of possible talented employees there… bit of a fail, imo.
(Not too sure about the demographics relating to vegetarians either, but there’s bound to be a small group there also)

What the hell America. I hope spreading chocolate sauce on bacon isn’t a normal thing over there.

Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 7:00 PMSecond this. The only things that should be put on top of bacon are eggs and baked beans.

There are actually a number of recipes for things like chocolate-bacon biscuits. I’m curious. I like smokey and salty, and I like chocolate.
Chocolate covered salted pretzels are delicious because of the combination of salt and sweet. I’d be curious to try bacon and chocolate.
