A symbol of the internet’s success, a reminder of the the dot.com crash, and otherwise just a nice-looking neon sign, the Yahoo! billboard has welcomed drivers to the Bay Bridge in San Francisco for more than a decade. Sadly, its time has come.
Jon Charles, the Vice President of Clear Channel Outdoor in San Francisco has confirmed that, “Yes, the Yahoo! board will be available starting in December 2011.”
I just want to know who’s going to replace Yahoo! and advertise themselves on the sign. What’s the betting it’ll be Google?
