RED has their Epic camera. Alli has their Alexa camera. And now Canon has the CX300, a digital video camera that’s soley intended for professional film production, promising accurate colour reproduction and awesome low and natural light performance.
According to Engadget, prospective buyers can opt for Canon’s own EOS lens mount or Arri’s PL mount, to power the camera with dual CF card slots and HD-SDI output. Obviously this thing shoots in 1080p, but other than its compact size, hard details are scarce for now. We’ll have more as it surfaces. [Engadget]
