The Avengers Trailer Is Full Of Explosions, Awesomeness

It’ll take a lot to screw this up: Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk and a handful of other extremely cool heroes in uniform, all blowing things up together wonderfully. Watch this trailer in HD… now.

It’ll be tough waiting until next year for this, but until then, I’ll keep this incredible line by Iron Man in my head:

“Big man in a suit of armour. Take that away, and what are you?
“Uhm, genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist…”

Other points of awesomeness:

Sammy Jackson’s eyepatch
Everything Tony Stark will say
Thor looking out of place
Lasers
Car explosion chain reaction
Advanced aircraft
Captain America eating sushi off his shield [Apple]

My body is unprepared for the amount of -FUCKING AWESOME- this movie will bombard me with.

Although I think Bruce Banner’s power is not turning into the Hulk, it’s turning into a new actor every time he’s in a movie.

Looks pretty damn good. Nice NIN soundtrack. I agree with Fistbeard, Eric Bana or Ed Norton for the Hulk would have been good.

The Eric Bana film isn’t part of the Marvel Studios series and Ed Norton was supposed to return, but due to a large falling out with the studo over the finished edit and marketing for the Hulk, was unable to appear.

I really wish they had worked that out though. Ed Norton played a great Bruce Banner.

This is kind of genius if you think about it. A movie that requires you to see 4 other mostly unrelated movies to fully appreciate.

I think the lead-up to the Avengers movie is one of the coolest things to happen in cinema for a really, really long time.

All the build-ups, the “blink and you’ll miss it” nods to other storylines, and the “after the credits” scenes in the other films have hyped me like nothing else.

And Downey Jr, I guess. He is just grand.

I love the lead up, it’s been so great and the collaboration with all movies and actors (minus Norton) has been great.

    Where’s the sushi-on-the-shield scene? I guess I missed it…

After hating on Iron Man 2, the incredible hulk, and the awful Captain America and quite liking Thor (as ridiculous a character he is, the movie is well done) …… I’m quite excited after seeing this trailer….full well knowing that it’s being directed by the continually awful Joss Whedon, who hasn’t done anything good…well…..ever.

    Something I thought wouldn’t happen.

I thought Joss Whedon did a good job with Firefly and Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. That’s about it though

The build up within the other films is a great touch as anyone who reads these comics will understand how theyve made the stories mesh almost as they do in the comic world. Bravo.
