Kodak Is On The Verge Of Being Worth Zero Dollars

Have you taken a look at Kodak’s stock today? We’ve known the company’s in dire financial shape, but this looks like the beginning of the crew abandoning ship.

You can’t even order off the Dollar Menu with a share of Eastman Kodak. At a certain point that I doubt is too far off, there’s not going to be any value left. Their lawyers might soon be charging up their camera phones for bankruptcy court. [Michael von Poppel]

…and then Apple buys Kodak’s patent portfolio and uses it to sue every smartphone on the market that has a camera inbuilt.

… except Kodak is about film, cameras are just peripheral.

while it is true that Kodak is more well known for its Film, the company has dabbled in digital camera and such, and considering that in the past few years Kodak have been heavily relying on Agressive patent litigation against the likes of Samsung and LG (sound familiar) in order to generate revenue. It seems highly likely that Kodak would have Patents in its portfolio that would be highly sort after by the likes of Apple.

What we really need is for the masses to buy Kodak for the peanuts it’s now worth and make those patents public domain with the only requirement for those wanting to use those patents being to acknowledge the Kodak name cementing it in history as it deserves.
