Vuzix’s Wrap 1200 glasses let you watch video from your phone, iPod or other device on a proper screen. That actually sounds pretty awesome, although most 3D content would be large enough to probably require some kind of portable streaming server. They refresh at 60Hz, weigh 85g, and support 16:9 and 4:3 ratios. And just to push the dork quotient into the next county, you can wear them over top of most prescription glasses. They’re available now for $US500. [Vuzix]

Now get the resolution up to HD, and add a video feed so we can overlay virtual onto whats in front of us and I’m sold.

Monday, September 12, 2011 at 5:45 PMI bought a pair of these for $500 specifically to use on a PC with FSX. On arrival, I found that I need to buy an adaptor to connect them to my PC. I cannot find the adaptor on the Vuzix web site, and have no idea what it will cost. I’ve sent Vuzix an email requesting advice. *Sigh*
