Super Tourniquet Stops Penis Gunshot Wounds From Bleeding Out

Getting shot in the groin has to suck beyond all imagining. So too must getting shot anywhere else, let alone places where you can’t cinch a tourniquet. The CRoC, or Combat Ready Clamp, gives your bleeding hard-to-reach spots the pressure they need.

The CRoC was designed with military personnel primarily in mind, because they’re the one who’d likely have to worry about getting shot in awkward places. But the device works for any part of the body where it would be difficult or impractical to apply a tourniquet, like the chest, abdomen or neck. As for the average consumer, maybe you just got mugged near your house. Or you have a really deep shaving injury. Either way, this could save your life. [Combat Medical Systems via OhGizmo]

But it leaves the Femoral vein wide open…

Get shot there and you are pretty much dead within seconds.

I haven’t looked at their site, but it seems that this is intended to clamp the femoral artery high up in the groin. If someone is, say, putting all their weight on their knee jammed onto the artery, they might buy enough time to apply this. Your odds aren’t good though.

    Combat Ready Clamp = CRoC?

    Shouldn’t it be CoRC?

This is not a penis tourniquet. Technically not even a tourniquet. More like a “clamp” as it is refered to.

Stew for some reason military does always use acronyms normally. More like port-manteaux, they just mash bits and pieces of words together, like socom, secdef etc…
