Navy SEAL’s Dog Mourns His Fallen Friend

Watching this image of Navy SEAL Jon Tumilson’s dog guarding his best friend coffin makes me all teary. He’s refusing to leave his side, as 1500 mourners witnessed.

Tumilson was one of the Navy seals who were killed by Talibans when a rocket-propeller grenade took down their Chinook chopper on August 6. [Today]

Yeah its very sweet and all, but couldnt they find a longer bit of footage of the dog doing nothing, instead of looping a gif?

I don’t know if they still do this but my father has told me a lot stories and truths of when he was in the Army and the kind of things that happen.

Concerning dogs. The dogs would be put down if thier handler was killed. If the handler lost their dog, a lot of the time, that handler would become very depressed because that dog is part of them and their family. It’s very sad I know but sometimes it’s the best thing to do :-(

Very very moving, a true companion to the end.

Reminded me of a scene from the film ‘Wag the Dog’ (http://youtu.be/47a7PKhpFJ0).
