Man Roots Six-Foot Nexus S Display At US Electronics Store

Best Buy had a six-foot Nexus S on display that caught the eye of a customer waiting for his phone to be repaired. Instead of merely exploring the giant phone, he decided to go one step further and root it.

He doesn’t show how he roots the device, just the aftermath. He points to the presence of the Superuser icon and his ability to run as superuser on terminal emulator as proof that the device is actually rooted.

Admittedly the video is a few months old, so you can’t track down the device and check it out for yourself. But still, it’s amusing to see what happens when a display device is left wide open at a major retailer. [Youtube via Phandroid]

This just doesn’t translate well into the Australian vernacular.

Yep, there’s no way I’m going to watch porn at work! Let’s just hope he at least sent it flowers after rooting it.

Are there any videos of him actually rooting the phone? I’m assuming he didn’t root it in the middle of the store with people watching.

Hopefully he used protection, or we could be expecting a Nexus Jnr. within the next 9 months.

That is a pretty hilarious headline for Oz Giz to carry unamended.

Presumably it would be easier to root a 6 foot nexus than a smaller one though?

More like 4ft phone on a stand.
:( I’d like a phone almost as tall as me.

I can’t fix your phone because it’s rooted.

    Means two different things here.

For some reason the headline had me thinking about New Zealanders’ preoccupation with sheep.

    Because foreplay is overrated.

I’m an ozzie, but I don’t feel the need to snigger every time the word root gets mentioned.
